"Powering Play"
Military Initiatives

Over 150,000 of our Iraq/Afghanistan war veterans have suffered mobility limiting injuries. Despite their life-changing injuries, they are amazing stories of courage, survival and recovery.

At Boundless Playgrounds, we realize the healing power of play and its role in helping our military families reconnect after long deployments at war. Accordingly, we are building fully accessible playgrounds at U.S. Army bases throughout the country — playgrounds that allow these families to play together to the fullest extent their disabilities allow.

Fort Campbell
In 2006, the very first Boundless playground to be built on a military base was completed. Since the Fort Campbell Boundless Playground opened, hundreds of returning veterans with mobility limiting injuries and their families have been able to experience the sheer joy of playing in an inclusive environment as they work towards reintegration and recovery.

West Point
Through the generous support of Hasbro’s Children’s Fund, a Boundless playground was built at the West Point Military Academy Installation. This inclusive environment is a place where wounded veterans in the Warriors Transition Unity can play with their children while receiving long-term rehabilitative care.

Camp Lejeune
During 2009, the Department of Navy and Actus Lend Lease opened the first Boundless playground on a Marine Corps Installation. The playground will serve the recreational needs of thousands of Marines and their families.

Pratt & Whitney
Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of military aircraft engines, has teamed with Boundless Playgrounds to build inclusive airplane structures at select project locations throughout the United States. This signature piece of equipment includes ramps, slides, wings, play panels and a tunnel "terminal" area.
